One time builders' merchant Biddle Bros now has art on the walls where tools used to be stacked, and students drinking Beck's instead of brickies buying shovels. Don't expect any real ale, this is a bar rather than a pub, with Beck's, Stella, Staropramen and Guinness on tap. The owner has kept the shop front and name, but has transformed the interior into a comfortable lounge where no one bats an eyelid if you take your shoes off, put your feet up on a leather sofa and order in pizza. There's an open mic night every other week and a piano in the corner. Well worth a visit.
