Bars & Pubs

  • Drunken Monkey

  • Some of the Chinese theming at this dim sum destination is a bit hokey and the music can be ear-splittingly loud, but this is a great bar - which means it's seriously packed Thursday to Saturday. On any other day, you can opt for Asian-slanted, generally sweet-toothed cocktails (lemongrass in a gin gimlet, lychee martinis) at your leisure or commandeer one of the big wooden tables for decent wine (the list is arranged by category rather than price) and dim sum. Large red paper lanterns, clustered over the DJ booth, combine with dark wood, mirrors and low lighting to give the place a satisfying San Francisco Chinatown feel.

Had a great night here on Tuesday and am already planning to come back tonight as it is open till 3 on Fridays... perfect!
What can I say, dim sum dumplings in the evening great music and brilliant cocktails ( I highly recommend the lychee martinis.)
The place looks like something from an old Bruce Lee set only with more kung fu dancing than fighting. And to top it all I left feeling like a true Drunken Monkey.
    Loved it!

Still a great fan of this bar , "it does what it says on the box !" always a great vibe and still the best Mojitos in town. The food has always been consistent and the staff friendly , My only gripe is that it doesn't close late enough , although i hear they our staying open until 3 on Fridays soon please advise if anybody knows.

Fairly unimpressed by our dining experience at this retsuarant - the food was average - definitely stick to the dim sum and not the main dishes, and the service was terrible. As the atmosphere is more bar than restaurant the music is too loud for the waiters to hear your order, consequently our order was wrong and they were not happy when we we informed them of thier mistake zero for customer service sorry!

I'm not sure why Timeout gave a good review, Have a look at some other sites and you will see many poor reviews, I'm afraid I have to agree with the poor reviews. Food is overpriced and very low quality. Service is non-existent, the waiters can never be found, and left out a number of dishes that my group ordered. I was also felt rather ill the next day. Do yourself a favour and give this one a miss.
