Owned by the same concern as the feted Les Trois Garçons restaurant around the corner, this famously louche cocktail lounge may have had some of its thunder stolen by neighbourhood newcomer, Beach Blanket Babylon. Tasteful, low-lit decadence is still the decor key, with distressed wooden armoires, hot-house plants, vintage palm-frond chandeliers, a stuffed hippo's head, man-sized Chinese urns, antlers made of red, mirrored mosaic, a giant disco ball and tea lights set on elegant, glass-topped tables establishing a unique, upmarket ambience. Chinese-print-covered menus list cocktails by genre (Hot Lover, Old Flame [house specialties], First Love [classic mixes], Sweeties) and average around £9, while a glass of champagne is £8, but watch out for the 12.5% service charge added to your bill. It may be slightly pretentious, but staff are helpful to the cocktail-confused and if you're out to impress, the place can hardly be bettered.

Eep! I have never done this before and it scares me somewhat. How am I supposed to sell myself (not in a prostitutey way) and yet not be up myself?...

Not a place to go if you want drink as you're unlikely to get served within half an hour at the weekends, completely defeating the purpose of this place. Or is that really the purpose of this place? Totally agree with people who say this is style over substance - a posers paradise.
Possibly the best night out i have ever had. Loved the dingy back street entrance and to be awed by these giant vases at the entrance. The drama of the place really sets the tone for the evening. Its not the kind of place for boring prudish people who are penny pinching. The atmosphere is of a civilised party in a very lovely venue. People are friendly and chat with total strangers. Not a place foe insecure people as there aren't any space for just two people. Sharing spaces are encouraged here. Come here with an open mind and leave happy. The staff are competent and helpful. Innovative cocktails that are out of this world and yummy bites. I don't their thunder has been stolen , if anything you realise how superior Loungelover is to new copycat opposite them. A true fan of Loungelover.
Cannot believe that i have not been before. Great buzz, fab drinks and snacks. The staff are really nice and eager to please. Its quite refreshing to see that in London or in fact anywhere in this day and age. Decor out of this world and very cleverly done as each area has a different feel. A perfectly balanced evening.
A really cool place without being pretentious. The cocktails were absolutely amazing. Every sip was heavenly. I wonder how they come up with such great recipes. Loungelover gets ready crowded but with the right crowd. It felt like no other place i have been to. The staff are helpful and not stuck up like some off the other bars. Did not try the food but will next time as it looked really tempting and smelled wonderful. Will go again.
This is clearly a place for shallow wannabes. Everything at Lounge Lover is style over substance. The food is really not very good and the drinks are terribly overpriced. We reserved a private area but the staff allowed other people to use the area and the manager refused to ask them to leave. The decor is fine but I cannot see how anyone would be impressed by the decor alone.
still the most beautiful place to drink in london(perhaps the multiverse!) and well beyond any simplistic suggestions that it may be pretentious (pretentious could be defined as 'a green banana' by a monkey). some will love and some will hate...that is ultimately the point, otherwise every place would be called 'all bar one'
