Walk down the steep stairs at Bardens and you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd accidentally crashed a house party. This lovely basement club is tiny - 300 at a friendly squeeze - but it has single-handedly put Stoke Newington High Street on the clubbing map. Mismatched wallpaper, battered leather sofas and scuffed wooden floors give it cosily worn-in vibe, while upcoming indie bands and edgy DJs help make it the last word in cool.
