Walk down the steep stairs at Bardens and you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd accidentally crashed a house party. This lovely basement club is tiny - 300 at a friendly squeeze - but it has single-handedly put Stoke Newington High Street on the clubbing map. Mismatched wallpaper, battered leather sofas and scuffed wooden floors give it cosily worn-in vibe, while upcoming indie bands and edgy DJs help make it the last word in cool.

I'm a young (but not as young as I look!) man, looking for people beyond the broad circles I orbit in for people to open my eyes, change my mind...

bardens is amazing, it's my fave club in london. it has the BEST band in london performing there, if you want to catch something before it's NME popular , catch it at bardens.
