The Barfly chain does a damned fine job of supporting up-and-coming musical talent, and the Camden outpost is no exception. The battered upstairs-downstairs space is still packed most nights with local 'faces' and wayward kids sporting cool haircuts and their skinniest jeans, all here for next-big-thing bands and club events like Casino Royale, which joyously mixes 1960s garage, northern soul and psychedelia with more recent fare. Indie dance mash-ups like Dirty Sounds (first Friday of the month) and Adventures Close to Home (second Friday) foster boisterously happy dancefloor mayhem.
