Just like the Fox down the road, the Princess has a ground floor bar topped by a very decent restaurant. The differences are all about style. The look here is less pub and more gastrobar, with groovy wallpaper, dark chocolate paintwork and a wrought-iron staircase leading to the first floor dining room; big blackboards list a fine choice of wines and gastropub dishes. As well as the wines (23 bottles, about half of which are available by the glass) there are real ales in the form of Timothy Taylor Landlord and London Pride, plus Kronenbourg, Red Stripe, San Miguel, Staropramen and Guinness. Being that bit closer to the Shoreditch action means the clientele are younger and edgier here, but the welcome is a warm one, whatever you're wearing.
