Long Bar
There’s an Italian touch these days to the Long Bar at the high-design Sanderson. It’s not only the neat, able staff working the long bar in question, a thin onyx affair lined with eyeball-backed bar stools. Limoncello has crept in to the mix, slowly stirred with Ketel One and elderflower water in the Citroen martini (£12), one of 12 on offer. Quality spirits monopolise the menu; the Wyborowa Lemon and Polstar Cucumber in the Sanderson martini, the Kurrant Absolut in the Long Bar Hi Ball (£11), the Sauza Gold tequila in the Apassionata martini. Fresh fruit – grapes, Scottish raspberries, passionfruit – are used for flavourings throughout. Four pricey wines of each colour come by the bottle and glass, a Rizzardi pinot grigio weighing in at £7.50/£27.
