This estimable landmark echoes the days when Europe was exotic and Eusebio was king, and a trip to France or Spain meant table football, odd beers and little plates of delicious snacks.
Staff dish out Estrella Damm, Nastro Azzurro, Super Bock and Sagres from a counter festooned with bright bottle labels and blackboard promises of tasty tapas (in the evening). Groups here for table-football tournaments, played out on tables filling the scarf-and-programme-lined space between bar counter and terrace, can opt for meat or vegetarian platters; other options include sandwiches, salads and cheese boards. There are wines and cocktails, though you'd fit in better with beer.
Oh, and who put that Shrewsbury Town scarf among the illustrious colours of Milan, Fiorentina and St Etienne?
