Adjoining the Greenwich Union, this cosy, two-bar Youngs pub hasnt felt the need to trendify. In fact, its very old-school approach has encouraged loyalty in a conservative clientele more interested in a pie and a pint than Rwandan coffee or Czech bottom-fermented beer. The photographic souvenirs of hop-field outings either side of the war images of a long-lost England set the tone. Still, along with the staunchly British Youngs range and Bombardier, you can find Bitburger, Corona, Tiger and Peroni by the bottle, plus platters and baguettes as well as steak and chips from the newly designed menu. Wines provided by Cockburn & Campbell, now responsible for the Youngs group, come in an attractive range.
