Thanks to the Thames lapping against its wall and the resulting busy tourist trade, this place is something of a local landmark. Built in 1837 and regally restored in 1968, it feels more historic than it is, with photographs of maritime scenes and portraits of braided admirals aiding the illusion; there are rooms named after Nelson, Hardy and Howe.
In fact, the place is huge: downstairs alone there are five spaces, in addition to the side terrace guarded by a statue of Horatio. The very end space looks quite contemporary, but everything else here is visitor-pleasing traditional.
Draught beers include British ales (Sharp's Doom Bar, Adnams Bitter) and Belgian brews (Palm, Estaminet), with plenty more Beneluxuriant options in the fridge.
A bar menu offers snacks such as traditional Greenwich whitebait, fat chips and burgers, but the culinary highlight remains the Sunday roasts.

Facilities
Tables outdoors ( 20, riverside ), Babies and children admitted ( until 7pm ), Function rooms ( up to 250 capacity )Ignore the website that shows a restaurant with table clothes and quite posh. It is in fact a basic pub restaurant but with prices over the top for the ambience. The food was good if you want a gastro pub style meal although pricey. The service was also good. If you are looking for a special night out then this is not the place - you will be very dissapointed
Great view across the thames and great beer selection. Interesting little menu but VERY small portions. £13.00 for 5 tiny ribs which is described as a "rack" served with a teaspoon of coleslaw is not what you expect as "pub grub" it was more Nouveau cuisine sized ! . I would drink there again but I'd give the rip-off food a miss, there are plenty of pubs in the area that are much better value if you want a decent meal.
Great views across the river and great selection of beers including selection from Sharps and Adnams. Very friendly staff will let you taste any of their products. Good selection of belgium lagers especially Estaminet - love it ! I will definatly be back again!!!
