This urban cocktail house, one of several fine Ruby-tied venues around town, has split its contemporary space into drinking and dining areas. All are treated to squishy brown seating and little candles in glasses, and most likely your seat will be close to a framed photograph of some pop icon or other (the Stones circa '66, Lydon, Weller).
The impressive cocktail menu includes classic martinis and extends to seasonal selections: you might be treated to a Lilikoi (made with eight-year-old Bacardi, fresh passionfruit, vanilla liqueur and orange). Peroni, Budvar and organic cider, plus a 40-strong wine list, cater to those with less adventurous tastes.
The music is imaginative and well-chosen; a sweet-scented basement hosts late-night shenanigans. It's slick, to be sure, and this is one of the better options in this corner of town.

Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. The bar staff were rude and unhelpful. As we were the only ones there we asked if we could have some lively music or have the downstairs opened up so that we could dance, but the girl behind the bar rudely declined. I ordered a round of finger food platters at the beginning of the evening and told the bar staff that we would like to order a second round later on. However we were not told the kitchen was closing ( as bars and restaurants normally do so I was unable to order any food later. We were a group of 16 people and considering everyone was spending quite a bit of money on what would have otherwise been a quiet evening for the place, we expected better service. The attitude of the staff was definitely unacceptable.
Went there yesterday with friends. Bouncers were rude when we're entering. They asked us if we were on the guest list though there wasn't any guest list for that night as we found out later. A group of guys before us weren't allowed in because they didn't have any girls with them (though the place wasn't full and there were more girls than guys inside).
Bar staff was unfriendly and drinks were inadequately expensive (7 pounds for single rum and coke and it wasn't a branded rum).
Rude bouncers, unfriendly staff. If you're going out in notting hill better go somewhere else!
