I went there with a friend to chill out on a quiet monday night, we order beers and food, as we were waiting for our food we went outside for 2 minutes to have a cigarette, we left our beer on the table. When we came back 2 minutes later our beers has disappeared and table was clean, we asked a table next door and had the confirmation that the waitress took our beer away. We asked for our beers and the waitress said that she was not responsible for our drinks, pretending that someone stole them. We asked to told to the manager and the manager completely denied saying that someone has stolen our drinks and she left without even listening. I have never had to deal with such a rude person... i ll never go there again.
Hey finally a pub in Brixton that you can go to with friends and relax. Was there last Saturday afternoon ended up having a great lunch, listening to some lovely music and enjoying what turned out be a fab afternoon with lovely friends. Will be visiting again!!
So Lovely to see such a super old venue having new life breathed into it. I highly recommend the fish cakes and the chips were in all honesty some of the best I've ever had! Love the Viv Westwood wallpaper on the columns - what a genius touch. Great price point and a comfortable venue to meet and eat with friends. I shall revisiting VERY soon.
Had a lovely Sunday roast lunch here but there were so many delicious things on the menu it was hard to decide what to have. The puddings were also really fab. The chef obviously cares about his cooking as you can tell from his quirky comments on the menu. Lovely wallpaper on the columns too.
Had a great night at the prince last week. The bar atmos is great, and the decor is lovely. The food and service were faultless. Especially the dessert selection, I HIGHLY recommend the cheesecake with poached pineapple. Absolutely gorgeous! I will be going back when im next in that neck of the woods.
As a drifter who passes by the prince once in a while I was pleasantly surprised to find that they seemed to have turned a massive corner and are now producing some of the best food in the area. Ok they still do burgers (100 times better than the used too) but the other offerings are are simply superb. I had the chorizo in red wine as an appetizer served in them little spanish pots and was every bit as good as in Iberia. I then had the marinated onglet steak with a deep fried smoked paprika crusted soft egg (omg) and 1/2 peeled twice cooked chips, my partner had am wonderful open hot smoked salmon sourdough sandwich with lemon & sourcream mayonnaise, mesculn leaves and liliput capers.
for dessert a sundae of flourless almond sponge, vanilla ice cream, rose water and orange jelly & chocolate sauce......mmmmmmm
Good, simple, honest and tasty food!
Keep up the good work!
