Dalston's incoming hipsters tend to congregate at newer bars such as Alibi and the Dalston Superstore, leaving this place to a fabulously mixed - and, more often than not, fabulously drunk - collection of locals for whom last orders is something to be avoided at all costs.
Plonked in the middle of what looks like a municipal car park and reminiscent of a 1960s library, it's filled with books and retro sofas, not so much vintage as just plain old.
The beers are bottled and the large, messy cocktails are a fiver. The random crowd dance, carouse and stumble about until the wee small hours to a shuffle mix of tunes that runs from the Cure to the soundtrack of The Jungle Book, but rarely seems to take in any jazz. Why would it?

Ooooh I do love to swing my pants in a generous figure of 8 when I can - and if the public allows - at this cute little flimflam of a place! What a beaut. If you see me join me in my merry dance to all things not jazz. Peace and lovely time
