This great little spot is well worth the ten-minute walk from Bethnal Green tube: most of the people who'll be filling the place will be regulars but by no means neighbours. Fresh flowers are dotted around the homely, cosy room and the pub name is etched into the mirror, though few other decorative details will be visible for the throng of sozzled grown-ups engaged in chat by the bar and seats around it.
Stowford Press cider, Brewer's Gold, Camden Hells and Rothaus Pils come on draught, with Modelo Especial, Negra Modelo, Jupiler, Flensburger and Crabbie's Ginger Beer by the bottle. There are also mixed drinks, such as a sloe and elderflower bramble (gin, sloe gin and elderflower liqueur) and a classic champagne cocktail, and decent pizzas (with gluten-free options).
Entertainment is provided by DJs and a piano in the corner; the rest of the time, it'll be Neil Sedaka, the Bay City Rollers and other tacky faves.
