A longtime fixture on the Camden pub circuit, the Dublin Castle has witnessed the launch of many a career. Note, for instance, the signed poster of Madness by the bar, behind which stands a framed photograph of Amy; Blur and Travis paid their dues on the stage in the back room. (The management has also seen fit to put up a huge Deaf School poster.)

The front bar is a simple affair, purveying pints of Red Stripe, Murphy's and London Pride, bottles of Estrella, Peroni and Budvar, and unspecified wines at under £4 a glass. Bell's, Jim Beam, Jack Daniel's and Sailor Jerry are the most popular chasers, judging by optic pours on a typically busy early evening.

Bands these days play under such unappetising names as Rosamojo & the White Rabbit and Die! Chihuahua, Die!, but you might get lucky with a next-big-thing or two.

upon arriving from Amsterdam, we headed straight there for sound check since my boyfriend would be playing there. I was very sick so i decided to lay down for a bit while they set up. Then I was spotted by the owner and told to get up since it was Illegal to sleep in public, drunk or not, (which i was NOT). then he started picking on me asking me all kinds of rude questions like where i was from and why i wasnt buying a drink. After being in so many venues, I can say this place is the rudest and most arrogant venue ever. No artists should be treated that way, especially if they're bringing in money to your establishment.
