This deliciously flirty little DJ and cocktail bar is an oasis of civilised transgression just down from the pseudo-festival vibe of the Brick Lane Bar hub.

Located beside a revolving red light advertising the presence of a taxi office, Exit comprises a narrow corridor of intimate chat, a bar counter and DJ decks at the back. Retro orange lamps, tea lights, dark banquettes and a wallpaper covered in oriental scenes help to provide a louche ambience.

Some 30 cocktails (£6-£7) suit a clientele who value fun above all else. Beers are bottled (Asahi, San Miguel, Corona); wines clock in at around £15 a bottle.
