With swallow-themed wallpaper, knobs on the gents' door and knockers on the ladies', this basement bar is kind of kitsch and, accompanied by a soundtrack of guilty pleasures, kind of cheesy.

A bit of a tight squeeze when busy with an up-for-it after-work crowd, the L-shaped bar area is overseen by a team of established and experienced bartenders whose drinks are made quickly and competently with no small amount of smiley showboating. The drinks list contains both contemporary and classic London cocktails alongside some gin drinks and a section dedicated to gastro-mixology - cocktails inspired by the kitchen.

The retro food menu is big on British and a touch tongue-in-cheek, with pick 'n' mix, penny chews and screwballs featuring beside pork scratchings, sharing platters and pudding cocktails.

I'm tempted to give this place 1 star just so people will stay away and it'll be quieter but the fact is it's a great little bar - little being the reason I'm docking it 1 star (it just gets too busy and too full).

Fantastic cocktails, friendly staff and reasonably prices. What's not to love?!

Great staff, great drinks, very fair prices (with some excellent happy hour offers) the only reason I'm docking a star is it gets insanely busy later and the venu just isn't big enough to cope with demand (so go in the afternoon if you can - before 6-7pm). Note: They are opening another one near Centre Point soon (as of late 2011/early 2012).

Excellent bar. Simply great cocktails and atmosphere. What more does a bar need?? Possibly some stunning bar girls, but that is all!

I cannot rate this place highly enough! As a birthday treat for my friend, I booked their Cocktail Masterclass for a group of her friends and it was simply brilliant. Lovely cocktails and faultless service from the bartenders and staff made for an excellent night out. It was so good in fact, we came back the the Cocktail Club later on and had a nice little dance on the bar! I would highly recommend this place, especially for a special occasion.

I LOVE this bar! drinks are amazing, and soooooo cheap for what you get! I went down with the girls on a busy Wednesday night and got some of the best service ive had in London in years! 5 stars in my book any day!
