This all-day café, wine bar and shop all rolled into one offers a haven for oenophiles. The ground-floor bar has a real fire, leather sofas and welcoming young staff, while downstairs you'll find the wine-tasting tables, as well as the wine cellar.
The wine list is stylistically and geographically diverse: around 50 wines are stocked at any one time, ranging from the odd cliché (Cloudy Bay sauvignon blanc, a Chateau Musar from Lebanon) through good-value options (Alsatian whites, a Sicilian red) to recognised classics (Kiwi pinot noirs, a red burgundy).
The real appeal of Finborough is not just the wines but the opportunity to learn about them: for £8, you can taste 12 wines of your choice. Knowledgeable staff attend throughout, making a real effort to engage every level of wine appreciator. During the day, coffees, Jing teas and pastries are available, and the bar menu keeps it very simple with cheese or meat boards and breads.

Facilities

4.5 stars. Loved the enthusiasm and passion for wine - really comes across in the bar. Lovely ambiance, great at responding to questions. Would have been helpful to have more tips on the wine tasting techniques i.e. how to swirl/smell. We really enjoyed the evening!
4.5 stars. Wine was brilliant, staff were very knowledgable (Maria) + gave great 'wine advice' but was difficult to hear what she was saying as the bar so loud - were 6 of us so being in a small room might have been awkward!
Staff were fantastic!! Very enjoyable experience. Loved the ambience & wine. Most delicious wines. Will def come back. Will order wine from here.
An enjoyable casual evening. A good way to try new wines.
Once again a very enjoyable evening. We will come again. The staff are all so friendly.
Lovely evening to have with friends, lots of knowledge about the wine without being pretentious. Highly recommended evening out.
Really fun - useful information, great wine, staff lovely - would have been useful to know "how" to taste, although we've done it before. Nice place in itself - bar, wine tasting, theatre.
This is a great place. The staff are really accommodating and knowledgable. The wines were delicious and cheap! Also, other like wine tasting places, it wasn't staid or pretentious.
I thoroughly enjoyed my wine tasting experience, it was my first time and was a very easy going introduction to the world of wine. The staff were knowledgeable about all the wines on trial.
Had a great time! Small group, lovely atmosphere, nice choice of wines and knowledgeable & friendly staff! Fun evening! Great value for money! Compliments to Monique! TA
All the staff were friendly, pleasant, fun! Finbarr was fantastic. He took the time to answer all my questions. Skye was also a HUGE help. Both were incredibly helpful and I greatly enjoyed my experience. I have purchased a case of wine and look forward to the membership tastings! May thanks! :)
Definitely a great night out with some mates and brilliant wine... Thumbs up 100%
