A really mixed crowd fills this deceptively large pub, everyone from twentysomething young professionals to gents and ladies of a certain age. Recently refurbished, it offers snug nooks in the bar area (complete with board games and a dartboard - and handy as an overflow for parents needing to keep the children in check), a tranquil conservatory for diners and a lovely patio space with heaters.
Some come for the ale (Harveys Sussex Best, Sambrook's Wandle), others for the lager (Bitburger, Leffe, Sagres) and others still for the wine (extensive and set at Clapham prices) and the food - the menu's had an overhaul too, with deli-inspired small plates, a charcuterie board (with an excellent piccalilli), whitebait, super chunky chips and a solid choice of sandwiches. But most choose the Bobbin for a community feel and the buzz around the invariably swamped bar counter.

Facilities
Tables outdoors, Babies and children admitted, Function room, Wireless internetHaving just seen the other reviews I thought it very worthy to post a comment. The fact that even with the odd complaint the Bobbin still gets 3-4 stars speaks volumes. This is the best little pub in Clapham Old Town. Great food, great drinks and great service....... 5 stars
Just back from Sunday lunch, this is one of the best if not the best we have had in SW London. Pork shoulder was perfectly cooked, slow roasted and full of flavor whilst the chicken was perfectly moist with crispy skin. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because the waitress wasn't very welcoming and there was no service with a smile.
Lovely location with a lovely conservatory and outdoor seating, good food but have to rate it down due to the shocking service I received there when I went for Sunday lunch. Granted they were busy but not only did it take ages to get served, we had to get up and get staff's attention, they forgot things we'd asked for and served us with grumpy, affronted looks. Shame, as otherwise it's really nice.
