Less well known than many Kensington pubs because of its location - hidden among the maze of avenues behind the High Street - this establishment has a great local feel.
Beer drinkers can enjoy continental lagers, Heineken and Früli or one of four rotating ales from the bar, which stands beneath a tropical mosaic of fronded palms. There are also four ciders (Aspall Perronelle's Blush and Brother's Festival among them) on offer and an array of spirits and cocktails, including the Kraken (spiced rum and Chase vodka).
In summer, you can repair to the outside decking area under the green frontage to tuck into goat's cheese risotto or free-range Gloucester Old Spot sausages and mash from the British gastropub menu, or just balance your well-poured pint on one of the barrels that are used as tables.
