No post might mean no Christmas cards, but frankly that's a small price to pay if you're a cyclist in London. Whilst I have every (well, some) sympathy for the Royal Mail workers, my bike ride about town feels noticeably safer when Royal Mail vans are off the roads. As a cyclist, mail vans have got to be enemy number one (OK, number two next to bendy buses). They have a tendency to cut you up, drive too close and speed up behind you with the sort of urgency that might be acceptable if they had the Crown Jewels on board, but not sack fulls of overdue water bills. Have you been tormented by mail vans? Let us know. . .

I haven't actually! Thinking about it, I rarely come across Royal Mail vans on my daily cycling commute, or even on Saturdays. Huh. My #1 cycling road scary enemy is motorbikers/cyclists. *sigh*
