I am interested in taking over one in good location for a good rent or price, but have no experience in running this kind of business. So I am looking for a good business partner interested in investing in a great London antique shop. Interested email me at : adam33pl@wp.pl

It's very sad to think that the shops that attract me to visit london could one day sieze to exsist. Not everyone conforms to highstreet cloning to hussling shops where clothes are displayed by the dozens. Some of us need a connection to the PAST, were a nostalgic lifestyle only presents itself in characterfull vintage shops, shops that make you feel in someway or rather like a part of something greater it gives us the chance to portray a lifestyle that no longer exists...........

www.countalexander.co.uk on this site does some top class jewellery, which is absolutely stunning & is rare to see. I can't get the website on the screen for some reason. I wonder what has happened. I hope every thing is OK with the Count!

It is a total disgrace. more should be done to protect the markets and smaller shops. London is losing its personality.

I'm disgusted by Islington Council's apparent lack of care for these vibrant, historical and fascinating pockets of the borough. Not only is Camden Passge under threat from odious big name developers but so is Amwell Street, Essex Road and Upper Street due to the fact the council has sold a freehold on 220 stores in those areas. Something must be done to protect and preserve these small and eclectic traders who are a vital parts of our vibrant capital before it's too late. I hear Ken Livingstone has launched an attack on Islington Council for this very reason. Bring it on. And well done Time Out for starting such a worthwhile campaign.

noooooo! do'nt shut the markets - then everyone'll have to shop at habitat and top shop and we'll all be the same...

It would be a shame to see the shops in Camden Passage shut - Cloud Cuckooland and Eclectica are two fantastic places! Islington Council should be more supportive of small traders and encourage this kind of business!

These markets are even better than Aladdin's cave! A visit to an antiques market truly is a fun day out. All the tresures, bargains and exclusive items... No high street shop can possibly beat that.

    Long live authenticity!

The antique markets in London are such refreshing alternatives to the same old highstreet stores that you can find anywhere. These places are unique - each time you go you'll discover something different. Seek out these hidden gems!

I was devastated to find out my favourite vintage shop, Cloud Cuckoo Land in Islington would be shutting down this spring. I've been going there for years and some of my favourite dresses were bought there. It will be a tragedy if more of London's antique shops go the same way and have to close due to increases in rent.

I love pottering about these old places- can't believe yet again character has been forsaken in favour of cash.
