‘We’ve spent nearly a week in Cannes with Violette’s family. Her nephews were very excited about sitting in the cab.The vehicle has been no problem, but it’s starting to get a bit sweaty in here! In Cannes, they’ve no doubt seen it all before, but when we pulled up next to a Ferrari our wheels got more admiring glances than it did. We asked the owner if he wanted to swap. He declined.
‘After Cannes, we headed for Monaco, where the cab did the Grand Prix track in 12 minutes – a black cab record, surely? Next stop, Italy. We’ve been getting lots of beeps and thumbs up, mainly when Violette is driving, for some reason. A Mercedes driver wound down his window and congratulated us on having a very beautiful car.
‘Last night, we arrived in Lake Como at a beautiful village called Bellagio. Off to Parma tomorrow…’
