UPDATE: the coffee shop has been shut down by the council while they apply for a street trading licence
As you've probably noticed, London is rapidly running out of space. 'Cosy' studio flats now come with a shower in the living room and developers won't stop until every part of London's skyline is crammed to the brim with towering high-rise buildings. You may also have noticed that no one in this city has used a pay phone since circa 2000. So to make the most of this (admittedly) small but wasted space, people are now turning phone boxes into teeny tiny businesses.
Umar Khalid and Alona Guerra have taken over a disused phone box on Hampstead High Street and turned it into a seriously compact coffee shop. Although it might look small, they've managed to cram a lot in. As well as coffee, tea and hot chocolate, they're serving up pies, pasties, cakes, croissants and muffins. Lovely stuff.
