Got hunger but no moolah? Never fear. These restaurant offers are out to make sure you can still have a slap up meal even if you only have a tenner to your name. Please remember to raid the back of the sofa for a tip, though.

Chicken burger, chips and drink at Howl at the Moon, Hoxton
Every Tuesday and Wednesday this friendly pub slashes the prices on its food menu to £5 a go, meaning you can get a massive chicken burger and more chips than you should eat for half your money, then use the change to choose whichever fancy beer is pouring that night (or indeed a big glass o' wine).

Steak and a pint at Pond, Dalston
A 16oz (that is BIG) flank steak in a dark and stormy marinade served with a Hawaiian pineapple and cilantro salsa is your dinner, a pint of 40ft Larger craft lager is your drink, and a classy converted Victorian warehouse your venue. Aloha!

Lunch at Kanada-Ya Haymarket
Get some of the city's best noodles in your belly at the new Panton Street branch of Kanada-Ya; they offer a bowl of their original ramen and a soft drink for £10 between noon and 3pm, Monday-Thursday. And they even take bookings. You are welcome.

Pie, mash, gravy and ale from Battersea Pie Station
A bottle of Stiff Upper Lip pale ale from By The Horns Brewing, a pie filled with whichever classic stew you favour, creamy mash, fancy gravy and... wait for it... it's not even in Battersea, it's in Covent Garden! Sounds too good to be true, but it ain't.

Champagne and a hotdog from Bubbledogs
No time of day is too early for champagne, especially when it's this affordable. At lunchtimes this Fitzrovia spot offers a glass of bubbles and the sausage-in-bun of your choice for just ten quid.

Two-course lunch at Belgo
Monday-Friday between noon and 5pm is when to visit Belgo, for it is during these magical hours that you can scoff a bowl of their mussels with chips and bread (or another selection from their express menu) and a dessert for ten pounds.

Gluten-free burger, chips and beer at Smiths of Smithfield
This flashy Spitalfields restaurant is offering a bottle of Celia lager, a gluten-free organic burger and chips for £10 for the whole month of May in honour of Coeliac Awareness Week, which runs May 9-15.
