These are the ten best bars for meeting single Londoners

Thanks to the proliferation of dating websites, apps, and other digital mechanics offering on-tap genitals, nobody has actually spoken to a stranger in a London bar since 2009.

However, should you decide to be the one to reverse the trend, you’ll need to know where to start. Handily, someone’s done the research for you.

According to data collected by dating app The Inner Circle, London’s unattached folk are flocking to Night Jar, the old-timey cocktail den in Old Street. They’re also big fans of Mr Fogg’s in Mayfair, and the Anglesea Arms in South Ken, which also made the top three.

The data is based on venues that the app’s members have indicated that they’re planning on visiting, with the below ten venues proving consistently popular over the last five months.

It should probably be pointed out that since The Inner Circle is all about ‘selective dating’, with would-be members vetted on an individual basis (we’re presuming a full IQ test is not involved), that the peeps you’re likely to meet at these places will be of a certain, er, calibre. But hey, beats dropping £15 on a cocktail in a room full of coupled-up timewasters, right?

Here’s the full top ten.

1. Nightjar, Old Street
2. Mr Fogg’s, Mayfair
3. Anglesea Arms, South Kensington
4. The Phene, Chelsea
5. Hix, Soho
6. Gordon’s Wine Bar, Embankment
7. Experimental Cocktail Club, Chinatown
8. Aqua Neuva, Oxford Circus
9. Aqua Shard, London Bridge
10. White Horse, Parsons Green
