You can now sign up to try out a driverless car in London

Driverless cars will be hitting the streets of London this summer, and you can now sign up to be one of the first people to try them out.

These swanky new six-seater electric pods are part of the Greenwich Automated Transport Environment (GATEway) project, and will be rolling into town this June. The organisers are looking for volunteers to take these bad boys for a spin in London's first public driverless car trials, which will take place in Greenwich.

Although, just like the 'driverless' DLR trains, each car will have a designated steward for safety reasons (basically, to make sure the thing doesn't become sentient and drive you into the river). Fasten your seatbelts, London!

Find out how you can get involved.
