Das Rheingold

The Royal Opera begins its third and last cycle of Wagner's marathon tetralogy, 'Der Ring des Nibelungen', about the Nibelung's gold ring and the havoc it wreaks, starting tonight with the squabbling gods and their Valhalla development running into trouble with builders (these giants!). John Tomlinson sings Wotan, henpecked by Rosalind Plowright's Fricka. Antonio Pappano conducts Keith Warner's production.
