The pianist Karl Lutchmayer, with violinist Gabrielle Painter, performs the music and explains the background and structure of William Walton's Sonata for Violin and Piano, and Lord Berners's 'Trois Petites Marches Funèbres'. Then, the 'Etude pour la Main Gauche Seule', Op 76 No 1, by Alkan, and Busoni's Sonata for violin and piano No 2 in E minor, Op 36a.
