Meet doyenne of UK acting, Phyllida Law, when she talks about her new book, Notes To My Mother-in-Law, at West End Lane Books. You may know her as one of West Hampstead's most famous faces, or from her many TV and film roles—or you might simply have bumped into her in West End Lane Books, but it's now our great pleasure to invite you to meet the wonderful Phyllida Law when she visits the shop to to talk about and sign her new book, Notes To My Mother-in-Law, on Thursday November 12th at 8pm. Notes is Phyllida's delightful, funny and sweetly poignant memoir of her late mother-in-law, who lived with the actress, her husband, Eric Thompson, and their two daughters, Emma and Sophie, for 17 years. For many, this arrangement could have proved a recipe for disaster, but, as the endearing Phyllida explains in the book, which she has also illustrated with pen and ink drawings, she was lucky enough to have a 'picture book perfect' mother-in-law....but we reckon the luck ran in both directions. A real treat of a book—and definitely one for your Christmas reading list—Phyllida's Notes is already proving, quite deservedly, a resounding hit with critics and readers alike. To book your seat at the reading you can either email us call on 020 7431 3770 or simply drop into the shop.
