Edinburgh Fringe benefits, 2012
‘Being asked to produce a show at the Assembly Festival during the Edinburgh Fringe 2012 was an honour but producing a single 60-minute showcase was a great challenge. I went with my gut instinct and brought back one of my regular favourite themes, the Sexy Circus Sideshow.
‘Originally developed in Toronto in 2003, the SCS made its London debut in 2008 during a co-production of “Fetish Weekend” and garnered press attention when I brought it back in LBW in 2010 amd 2011. Bringing in the alternative circus performers and “brothers of bodily harm” Monsters of Schlock from Canada proved canny, alongside with a rabble-rousing carny barker from St Louis, Xander Lovecraft. The female line-up was a mix of showgirl charms and sexy gimmicks.’
