Chaz Royalâs ten-year anniversary
The Canadian cabaret producer celebrates a decade of decadence

Ahead of his ten-year anniversary shows at Bush Hall, Ben Walters asked Chaz to plunder his scrapbook for some key moments in his journey…
London calling, 2007
‘From 2004 to 2006, I relentlessly booked tour dates for the Fluffgirls in North America, the UK and Europe but while nursing a burning desire to produce a burlesque festival in London. By 2007, plans were underway and within a few months London Burlesque Festival debuted as a four-day weekend event.
‘Due to the overwhelming response, I quickly developed a plan to return to London with a series of shows building up to a 2008 festival. In October 2007, I produced a fundraiser series at the Soho Revue Bar and invited my favourite UK acts.
‘Pictured here is Venus Noir, a statuesque beauty who debuted at the LBF 2007 newcomers show. Clearly the crowd favourite of the event, her act seemed reminiscent of the original Raymond Revue dancers.’
