'Do you remember when we first met?'

Ellis Scott 'We met in the summer of 2005 in the Kashpoint club queue. You were doing the door and said: "You look fabulous but not enough to be on the free list." I can't remember what you were wearing…'

S 'It was a piece of A4 paper on my face and a white box. Avant-garde!'

E 'But the first time I talked to you wasn't until Kashpoint the Rebirth Party [October 2005]. S 'Most of the time your were dressed as the builder from The Village People. No wonder I thought you played for the other team! So how would you described the book to people who don't know us?'

E 'A voyeuristic tale of a lonely photographer and an egotistic performance artist putting their life on paper in the pursuit of validation from teh world which once spawned them then brought…'

S 'Ellis! That's far too poetic. It's just a book of nice pictures of me!'

E 'Have you enjoyed making the book?'

S 'Yes! I think my favourite part of the process of working with you in the studio with you was meeting your mum and your mental crippled dog…'

E '…which is now dead. RIP, Possy. I've liked the idea of having a project with one person and just calling you up and trying something new. Seventy-five per cent of the work is a bit of a disaster, but when it works it's wonderful. Or as wonderful as it can be when you are taking pictures of a bedraggled fatty who just wants to speak to my mum and drink tea from a Princess Diana mug.'

S 'I've enjoyed having a full-time photographer document my every movement – it makes a girl feel very special – but, in truth, you're a great craftsman and you refine your skill constantly. But I'm still better than you.'
