London International Mime Festival 2013: Yeung Fai – Hand Stories

Barbican Centre, Barbican Saturday January 19 2013 0:00
Banish thoughts of Marcel Marceau knock-offs trapped in invisible boxes: this festival dating back to 1977 offers wordless work from around the world involving everything from puppetry and animation to circus skills and new technology, including many UK premieres. 'Hand Stories' is from Yeung Fai, a fifth-generation puppeteer reflecting on the disaster of the Cultural Revolution for his own family and his journey to the west. Tradition skills and images meet multimedia effects and original score.
