    • Leadenhall Market: To celebrate Christmas Victorian-style, head to Leadenhall Market in the City. This dainty complex, designed by Tower Bridge architect Horace Jones, is tastefully garlanded, with a 20-foot tree as its focus Somerset House: as romantic a winter wonderland as youre likely to see, complete with ice rink, neoclassical architecture, Victorian lamps and a tree decorated by Tiffany & Co Berkeley Square: among the towering plane trees squats a suitably corpulent number for the well-lardered environs of Mayfair. Singing nightingale not pictured Covent Garden: a sight to behold a virtual tree projected on to the rear of St Pauls church. Thats one way to avoid sweeping up pine needles Waterloo Station: most of the mainline stations have trees, but Waterloos effort looks particularly unloved, cordoned off with fencing and traffic cones Hays Galleria: the converted wharf has gone for a Wizbit-shaped tree, resplendent with twinkling purple bulbs. Very neat, but slightly sinister Plus, one for luck Victoria Place: lurking in the soulless, shiny, steel-framed shopping venue is a soulless, shiny, steel-framed Christmas tree Whiteleys: a cool yule is a sure thing in the Bayswater mall thanks to this spectacular indoor tree with a Santas grotto inside the base. That may not be real snow Greenwich: perhaps conscious of introducing a fire hazard so close to the Cutty Sark, south-east Londons maritime heritage site has eschewed a traditional tree in favour of this electric maypole Trafalgar Square: in a tradition dating back to 1947, the good people of Norway send us a 60-foot spruce each year in gratitude for British support during World War II.
