People don’t just come to the O2 Arena to watch Ed Sheeran play live. There is a cinema here too. The 11-screen Cineworld Greenwich is a multiplex that supersizes everything, from the jaw-dropping dimensions of the Sky Superscreen – the widest in Europe – down to the jam-packed programme brimming with titles. This is also where Sundance London pitches up each year when it brings its film festival to the capital, making this an important destination on the filmgoing map.

In my experience the cinema at the O2 is an adequate venue for an evening out.

The cinema offers a lot of variety, and the food venues are fit for purpose. I love that you can find everything under one roof with such convenient transport links.

The Sky Bar is quiet and offers reasonable cocktails before your meal. However, they could do with turning the volume down in most showings - particularly during the adverts. Loud does not equal better. Avoid if you have sensitive ears.
