‘Have ye seen the Great White?’ ‘Aye, Cap’n, he’s right there, clambering up the rigging with his shirt off!’ This salty seagoing adventure – based on the true(ish) story that inspired ‘Moby Dick’ – may sell itself as a ‘Jaws’-in-pantaloons tale o...

With dynamite timing and outrageous threads, Ryan Gosling is a blast in this action-comedy from genre veteran Shane Black (‘Kiss Kiss Bang Bang’, ‘Iron Man 3’). Sharply crafted but still laid back – and hilarious from the off – Black’s buddy-buddy...

Here’s definitive proof that a single performance can make an entire film. The premise of ‘Central Intelligence’ is simplistic and underwhelming: a former high school star turned jobsworth accountant teams up with former bullying victim turned CIA...

While 'Finding Dory' is crammed with the kind of visual pleasures we’ve come to expect from Pixar, the story doesn’t always reach the heights of invention upon which the animation giant has built its reputation. The film lacks the psychological pr...

A little orphan girl is snatched from her bed late at night by a big-hearted vegetarian giant and whisked off to an unwelcoming land of over-sized cannibals in Roald Dahl's much-cherished 1982 book 'The BFG'. For this movie version, aimed squarely...

The hilarious start of this cartoon from the ‘Despicable Me’ team feels lifted from one of those pets-do-the-funniest-things montages on YouTube. Front-loading the best bits, ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ begins by imagining what the animals in a New ...

Sea turtles can live for more than 150 years. Ninja turtles? God help us. With any luck, whatever steroids this lot are taking to make them look freakishly pumped-up (like giant cucumbers dressed as extras from ‘Mad Max’) will shave a few years of...

There’s a wince-inducing scene in the middle of ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ that says just about everything you need to know about this sprawling superheroic mess. It’s 1983, and a group of teenage mutants walk out of a screening of ‘Return of the Jedi’, ...

Ancient Egypt! Where gods and goddesses deign to live among humans, and squabble over who should be in charge. Just as Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Lord of the Skies, is about to inherit the crown, Set (Gerard Butler) – whose godly portfolio inc...

Great cinema - a variety of large screens & good service. The ushers are always friendly and helpful. The cinema show a better range of films (from large blockbusters to family films to smaller independants) to most large chains - though a few more foreign films wouldn't go a miss! Would recommend Cineworld Enfield to any film fan.
