There is a long long way to go since the refurbishment of this place. I used to go to the Exhibit regularly pre-refurb and was excited to see the new developments. Don't get me wrong the place is much nicer now with great decor, vibe and is much more stylish. However, there are several serious teething problems.
First of all, the staff was unaware that there were even table numbers, so when it came to odering bar snacks that was a little awkward... What made things even worse was that they charged me £7 for the salt beef bagel when the menu was printed with £5. I probably should have stood my ground and said that legally they have to charge what's advertised (even if they decided to change the prices on the system, but the customer menu's have not been updated yet), but as I knew they were still 'newish' I didn't want to argue.
But just as the food could not get worse, we waited over half an hour for all the food to arrive and when the salt beef bagel arrived, it was NOT a bagel AND the amount of mustard that was applied made it completely inedible. The mustard was slathered on as if it was a running sauce and was so pungent we could not eat it and sent it back. It was almost as if the chefs had not tasted/ tested the food before serving.
I would probably only go here for drinks only because it is a nice place to go, but will wait until the food has been improved before eating there again.
