Fiona Shaw directs a new production of Vaughan Williams's setting of the 1907 play by JM Synge. Set in the Aran Islands, a woman copes with losing her family to the sea. Starring Patricia Bardon and Leigh Melrose. With designs by Tom Pye and multi-media artist Dorothy Cross. The evening begins with 'Luonnotar' by Sibelius. Edward Gardner conducts in memory of Richard Hickox. (Running time: One hour ten mins with prologue. Four performances only.)
