La traviata

Renée Fleming stars as the rich courtesan (Violetta), with Joseph Calleja as her young paramour (Alfredo), who breaks social conventions to be with her in Verdi's evergreen tragedy. Thomas Hampson also stars (Germont) in this revival of Richard Eyre's production, evoking the pleasure-seeking whirl of Parisian society. The conductor is Antonio Pappano.
