Ensemble Serse presents a concert performance of Hasse's 1730 version of the story by Metastasio about the compassionate Persian prince. The cellist Christopher Suckling directs the ensemble, with tenor Julian Forbes (Artaserse), soprano Sarah Moule (Mandane), countertenor Oliver Gerrish (Artabano), male soprano Calvin Wells (Arbace), contralto Katherine Cooper (Semira), and mezzo Melanie Sanders (Megabise).
