David Alden's new production of Britten's nautical saga stars Toby Spence as the ship's comander, Captain Vere, with Benedict Nelson as the eponymous protagonist. Other cast members in this co-production with Deutsche Oper, Graz Opera House and The Royal Danish Theatre, Copenhagen, include Matthew Rose (Claggart), Jonathan Summers (Mr Redburn) and Darren Jeffrey (Mr Flint) under the baton of Edward Gardner.
