The pianist Jeffrey Siegel performs Brahms's Variations on a theme of Schumann, Op 9; Clara Schumann's Romance in G minor, Op 11 No 2 (dedicated to R Schumann); Clara Schumann's Romance in F, Op 21 No 2 (dedicated to J Brahms); and Robert Schumann's 'Novelettes' (dedicated to Clara Schumann). Siegel speaks briefly about the music, in non-technical language, before performing each composition in its entirety. Each programme concludes with a short Q&A period where the audience is encouraged to participate.
