Rupert Goold directs Puccini's tale of the icy princess who cruelly watches her suitors executed when they fail to answer her riddles but is frustrated by the confidence of one who will not be deterred. Starring the German soprano Kirsten Blanck (Turandot) and Welsh tenor Gwyn Hughes Jones (Calaf). The chinoised score, which features the aria 'Nessun Dorma', is conducted by Edward Gardner. (Sung in English, with surtitles.)
