Deirdre Gribbin's new one-woman opera (commissioned by Wilton's). Featuring the mezzo-soprano Alison Wells, this modern multi-media production, directed by Lou Stein, uses new translations of Chinese Tang poetry to tell the story of a passionate woman who loses her lover to war, and her desire to make contact with him again. The Smith Quartet, dancers Amy Bell and Valentina Golfieri, with visuals by filmmakers Hazuan Hashim and Phil Maxwell. (Part of the China Now festival.)
