The new Royal Opera season begins with Mozart's dramatic tale of the heartless seducer and murderer for whom the fires of Hell are waiting. Francesca Zambello's engrossing production, with colourful designs by Maria Björnson, is performed by two casts of singers and conductors, beginning with Simon Keenlyside (Don Giovanni), Marina Poplavskaya (Donna Anna), Kyle Ketelsen (Leporello) and Eric Halfvarson (Commendatore). Charles Mackerras conducts.
