Cool place but service is truley terrible. I went there with some friends on a Tuesday evening, the place wasn't even busy and they were obviously struggling. Waited ages for our drinks and they messed up the bill. Staff were rude. Avoid.

Absolutely terrible service. I waited for an hour just to get my drink. When I approached the staff to ask for the rest of our order (they had forgot to serve us half of our party) the staff were slow and not even remotely apologetic. Will not go back.

TEA and cake is possibly one of the most quintessential English traditions. Tea and cake served alongside a ball of clay and instructions on how to turn it into David Bowie’s head, well now we have something a little different. This afternoon I discovered Drink Shop Do. An old bathhouse with a chintzy , candy coloured interior complete with retro, one of a kind furniture and staff to match, that provides an all together new twist on the 1920’s tea house. The concept is quite simple. Drink; it’s a cafe. I drank chai tea from a unique victorian tea caddy (which unfortunately for tea lovers was not loose leaf) served alongside a giant a delicious slab of squidgy carrot cake. Needless to say the cake instantly compensated for the tea’s misgivings. Shop? Everything is for sale. From a divine 1970’s peacock chair to the spider plant in the corner, everything has a price. My trophy for discovering such a brilliant vintage treasure box became a 1950’s cake stand which I picked up for a justifiable £20. Finally the ‘Do’ is warranted by the variety of quirky craft workshops that are held throughout the week. Last nights ‘do’ was a hat knitting competition judged by innocent smoothie. Located on Caledonian Road, Drink Shop Do provides a welcome change to the concrete jungle style eateries that currently infest Kings Cross. If you like your sandwiches with the crusts off served to cool scat music and Aretha Franklin, accompanied by tea or a cocktail then Drink Shop Do is a must. But if that’s not your cup of tea then look to the bottom of the menu where you'll find 'Teacup of Sherbert with Lolly'. I defy you to resist.
