- You know it’s summer when… you’re dreaming of partying alfresco without getting soaked or freezing to death. Sitting outside with a drink in hand as the breeze ruffles your hair and music drifts through the night air may seem like a fantasy as the rain lashes down outside, but Cargo are a-hopin’ and a-prayin’ for fine weather when they host their first yard party on Monday.
They deserve it, they really do, because they’re showcasing an ace line-up gratis and also throwing in free drinks and nibbles (until stocks run out) from the new Spanish tapas menu!
What’s the occasion? The venue is relaunching its revamped restaurant with a new menu. Graffiti artists will be spraying in the garden and there are live sets by laptop wizard James Yuill with Jess Bryant on vocals, maverick toytronica master Kid Carpet and guest DJ Mike Simonetti (Italians Do It Better) will be getting in on the action with the Cargo DJ All-Stars. Best get down here early then, but if you don’t make it, the yard will be waiting for you – complete with cool breezes rustling the bamboo leaves – throughout the summer. Bring it on!
