The Pyrrha Girls
Sara and Nadia host and DJ in the Young & Lost Room at The Frog on Saturdays (and the second room at The Frog NYE party at The Forum), where they showcase new indie bands. They’ve run Young & Lost Records for 18 months, releasing seven singles in 2006.
Best moment of 2006?
The second Radio Caroline boat party in the summer organised by Adventures In The Beetroot Field. We booked the bands, Late Of The Pier, Fear Of Flying, Jamie T, The Good Shoes and The Rumblestrips and loads of great DJs (Young Turks, Matthew !WOWOW!, Teens Of Thailand). The atmosphere was amazing, really hectic, in fact there was literally a riot and there were no more boat parties after that, but it was worth it.

Best single or album of 2006?
Sara: My favourite was Xerox Teens’ ‘Darlin’’, but any of The Klaxons or The Horrors singles really stood out.
Will nu rave be big in 2007?
It’s still only got one good band, The Klaxons, but it’ll probably last a bit longer. Indie kids really want to party more. There’s hardly any normal gigs now, everything’s either an event or a club night, which is great.

DJ Geddes
Stuart Geddes (Time Out’s Best Up & Coming DJ 2005) co-runs and DJs at Mulletover so he’ll be playing the second room at the Together NYE party at Turnmills, then an after-party until noon and later a New Year’s Day Mulletover event. ‘It’ll be casualty central,’ he laughs, ‘but it’ll be a great warehouse party.’
Best moment of 2006?
Our party at the end of the season in Ibiza. We pulled off this amazing party up in the hills behind Amnesia – no one else had managed that all summer. We had a massive projection onto the trees and it was really spectacular. We were shitting ourselves worrying whether people would come, so seeing a string of car lights driving up the valley towards us at 2am was phenomenal.
Low points?
Going out to Ibiza for the summer was a fantastic experience, but a bit frustrating as I’d finally launched my production career this year, but I couldn’t work on records out there. I just had to surrender to the Balearic madness!
Will nu rave be big in 2007?
Yeah, definitely. That scene is getting bigger and bigger and so many people are doing parties. Every time I go out in Hoxton there’s another one.
