Time Out says

Renowned NYC party Mattachine hops over the pond for the first time and lands in Bethnal Green. The night is the brainchild of US actor and director John Cameron Mitchell, best known for starring in and directing cult film 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch', which portrayed a fictional rock band. Named after an early gay rights group from the US, Mattachine began life in NYC bar Julius, claimed by some to be the city's longest-standing gay bar. Music at the London arm of Mattachine will traverse pop, funk, rock, punk, new wave, hip hop and more, spun by London DJ duo TheMenWhoFell2Earth, plus JCM himself singing songs from 'Hedwig'. There'll also be other surprise performances on the night.
